Dara Adams-Smith has been a free-lance trumpeter and a band director in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts for twenty-two years. Dara was the director of bands and music technology at Hampshire Regional Middle and High School in Westhampton, where she taught for over 21 years and recently retired in the fall of 2021. In prior years, she taught 4th-6th grade beginning band at the William E. Norris Elementary School in Southampton (2018-2020) and was also an adjunct trumpet instructor at the Northfield Mount Hermon School in Gill (2000-2018). Additionally, Dara has experience teaching sound reinforcement and digital audio recording, piano, woodwinds, brass, drum set and mallet percussion, and trumpet. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance and Music Production & Engineering from the Berklee College of Music, and a Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Music Education from the University of New Hampshire.
