About the Program

Based on the principles of free improvisation, the "Free Jazz" and Improvisation Class encourages students to break free of everyday conventions of instrument play and explore the avant-garde world of John Cage, Ornette Coleman, John Zorn, Glenn Branca, Morton Feldman and others. Open to students 15+

Your Instructor

Adam Bosse

Adam Bosse teaches guitar, electric bass, composition, an open improvisation class, and Jazz Ensembles at NCMC. He received his B.A. in music performance from University of Maine, Augusta, and his Master’s in jazz composition and arranging from UMass Amherst. Adam is well-versed in a wide variety of musical genres, and believes that there is no one definitive approach to teaching the guitar.
