Sarah Swersey

Flute
Chamber Music

Sarah Swersey teaches flute and co-coordinates the Summer Chamber Music Program at NCMC. Sarah has performed extensively in the United States and Europe as a solo, chamber and orchestral musician. A native New Yorker, she spent seven years as principal flutist with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Spain. Since returning to the United States, she has performed at the Lincoln Center Festival, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Tanglewood Music Festival. Sarah performs as the jazz-and-classical ensemble Dúo Fusión with Joe Belmont. She has performed on several CDs by Grammy Award-winning cellist David Darling, who co-produced her CD, Nightingale. Sarah holds degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory and Yale School of Music. She has taught at Greenwood Music Camp, Kinhaven Music Camp, and Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Camp, and currently teaches on the faculty of Deerfield Academy.
