Music Together® This high-spirited music experience for children ages birth through five years (with their parents/caregivers) introduces children to the joys of music through singing, games, chanting, movement and instrument play. Families sing and dance together and are encouraged to respond spontaneously to music. A book and CD are provided to support music learning at home. Instructors: Carolyn Mazel and Eric Roth
Future Maestros (Level I for 4-5 year olds; Level II for 6-7 year-olds) In these classes, children apply their imaginations to the study of music through movement, song and play. Younger children begin basic rhythm and note study, learn about musical instruments, experiment on real instruments, make their own instruments, and do some basic songwriting using a portable computer recording studio. Older children continue the path to instrument study through more advanced rhythm and note study, learning about basic acoustics of sound, studying a variety of musical genres, learning basic conducting patterns, and learning more andvanced songwriting concepts using the portable computer studio. These students will also begin playing their first instruments, including Orff mallet instruments and precorders (beginner recorders). All students demonstrate what they have learned in a performance for their parents on the last day of each session. Parents attend only the first and last class to help their children become more focused and independent. Instructor: Aric Bieganek
