Kuumba Women's Choir

(formerly "A Little Lunch Music")

"Kuumba" (pronounced koo-yoom-bah) is the Swahili word for "creativity." In addition to learning the basics of good vocal technique, this unique women's a capella choir explores a wonderfully diverse musical repertoire. Varying levels of
musical experience are welcome, and the ability to read music is not required.
Community performances are presented throughout the year.

$270 per academic year (30 weeks)

 

Northampton Community Children's Choir

Generously Underwritten by Berens Animal Hospital

Open by audition to children in grades 3 to 9 with unchanged voices, this choir performs a wide variety of vocal literature while developing sightsinging and vocal skills. Public performances are held throughout the year, including a performance in Commonwealth Opera's production of Brundibar in the winter of 2007.

Auditions for the 2007-2008 Academic Year will be held by appointment. Please CALL THE MUSIC CENTER (413-585-0001) to arrange an appointment.

Solo Vocal Performance Class for Teens

Emphasis will be placed on developing healthy, sustainable vocal technique and helping each individual singer reach his/her potential. Students will receive individual instruction and learn skills to help them become more effective on stage and in auditions.

Mondays: 5:30-7:00 pm

$450 (academic year)

 

Vocal Chamber Ensembles

For groups of 4-8 vocalists who would like the experience of working in a smaller ensemble. Time arranged according to group consensus.

6 coached rehearsals per 8-week session

Fall Session begins 10/16, Winter Session begins 1/22, Spring Session begins 4/23

$120 per 8-week session
