Music for the Young Child
An exceptional music education program for children
The Music for the Young Child curriculum used at NCMC has been developed from the most current research and thinking on early childhood learning and development. The success of musical experiences in later childhood is profoundly influenced by consistent musical nurturing in a child's early years. Current research from many corners of the world has repeatedly demonstrated the life-long benefits of music for young children. We promote the belief that all children can benefit from a "total music experience" that emphasizes process over performance.

Eurhythmics
Using the Swiss Dalcroze method of instruction, this class introduces music and creative movement to children while developing coordination, concentration and quick reaction skills. Accompanied on piano, children experience various sounds and rhythms that they learn to translate into their own movements. Through this process, they acquire basic musical concepts that enhance each child's ability to play a musical instrument. Parents attend only the first and last class to help their children become more focused and independent.
